Michael Lyons is a an up and coming young race driver who has a very useful characteristic – winning! Being closet ‘Petrol Heads’ We were really pleased when approached by John from his management team at Elle Sports Management to come up with a brand style, logo and website for him.
The graphic marque with in the logo is inspired by the graphics on Michael’s helmet and the font used as a basis for the type has a really dynamic and ‘racey’ feel to it, we did play about with the letter heights and angles top get a balance between legibility and “va va voom” factor.
Moving on to the website, it’s a completely functional CMS site so all of the content can be updated by client when ever they like, as well as adding regular blogs, News an Portfolio items. The design was great fun and, due to the subject matter, a departure from the usual sites we do, with some fantastic imagery to play with – note the expandable background images. Social networking was also a very important factor so Michael can tweet live from race meetings and it appears on the site straight away, the commenting is also directly linked to Micheal’s facebook page.
So all that remains to say is best of luck for the season Michael and Messrs Hamilton and Button better watch out!!
